My Orkney Isle family were descended from ALEXANDER and ELIZABETH (nee CAMPBELL) who were resident on Shapinsay Island between 1848 and 1861. I have found this out by reading the 1851 and 1861 census. They moved after that time to Mainland Island about 1861 and were recorded in the 1871 census.
