    3. Judith Epps: some thoughts: Part of this could be a misplaced reference to a county: ie Count Ross lc = Count[y of] Ross & [Cromarty]. Nolli could be shorthand for 'no one admits responsibility'. But an exotic Count Ross lc NOLLI might step from the shadows of this list. Where in Orkney did Cath come from? Westray? [Noltland?] Incidentally, the Ross baronets of Balnagowan, Ross-shire lived also in LanarKShire, and were connected by marriage to the Lockhart-Wisharts of Carnwath LKS, Counts of the Holy Roman Empire. Bothwell is at the other, northern end of that county.
