The Civil Registers for 1855 to 1875, plus 1881 & 1891 are also available on microfilm. My gggrandfather Peter Hepburn was born in Kirkwall 9th Jan, 1814. He joined the 93rd Highlanders when he was 16. He was sent to the West Indies 2 years later and he came to Toronto Ont. Canada in 1938 where he bought his discharge. I have reason to beleive that his parents were John Hepburn and Elizabeth Caithness married 23 March 1799. John's parents may have been James Hepburn and Anne Flett married 16 Dec. 1766.. I am trying to trace any relatives he may have had in Scotland. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.If anyone has any ideas , I am open to suggestions.
