    3. Hello Jackie, My family of Gunns were from Orkney amd went to work for the Hudsons Bay Co. in Canada. One left Stromness on the "Prince of Wales" in 1806 and Adam Gunn left in 1835 from the same port and on the same ship, however he travelled to Fort Vancouver in Washington State. The library has a book on immigration from Scotland and one day I happened to read it and found a George Gunn had left the Orkneys in 1795 to work for HBC - a lot earlier than I had originally thought.
