OK, as long as we are listing again - here is my Orphir, Orkney family : Joseph HALCRO (1822-Orphir) married Jessie JOHNSTON (1834-Walls) in Orphir, 1855. They had 10 children : William, John, Thomas, Jessie, Robina, James, Peter, Joseph, Margaret and Mary. All births were from 1856 - 1879. My line is from the eldest son, William (born 1856, Orphir). He had 7 children (born in Orkney) who ended up in Glasgow, Canada and America. The families that intermarried with the HALCROs were : WILSON (Isabella from Stromoness married William in 1879), GROUNDWATER (Margaret married Thomas HALCRO in the late 1880s), SHEARER (Peter married Jessie HALCRO), GUNN (Morrison married Robina HALCRO mid 1880s). The other names we do not know. I am most curious to know if any HALCRO(W)s of this line remain in Orkney. We are led to believe they all left. I find that hard to understand - ALL of them ?
