I recently learned that my g-g-grandparents were married in this church in 1857. I don't know anything about church history, but an old posting from May mentions that United Presbyterian "Congregation" was formed in 1796 and joined with the Free Church in 1900. When I inquired if the church still exists, I was told that if it did it wouldn't be called "Presbyterian". So would this have been a non-conformist church, separate from the established church? I'm hoping someone on the list can explain this. Thank you. Linda Baikie Gee
