I have a Samuel SPENCE, born 26 Sept. 1788 near Stromness in the Orkneys, went to St. John, New Brunswick sometime before 28 Dec. 1815 when he was married there. His parents were William SPENCE, chr. 16 Feb. 1761, m. 16 Nov. 1784 to Katharine IRVINE, chr. 03 June 1758. They also had children: Helen SPENCE, chr. 05 Dec. 1785 in Stromness and Jeremiah SPENCE, chr. 24 July 1792 also in Stromness. Cheers also to you, Carolyn Missouri, USA
