[Oops. My previous note had Donald Morgan's name wrong. Please ignore it. Thanks, and Sorry.] According to my grandfather, his father, Frank (or Francis) Morgan, was from the Orkneys. Unfortunately, that is all I have to go on besides the fact that some time before 1904, the family moved to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I know this because in 1904, Frank married Florence Herridge there. The 1881 British Isles census lists only two Morgan families living in the Orkneys, Donald Morgan (from Thurso) and Alexander McLeod Morgan (probably Donald's son). Either Frank was not yet born, or my grandfather was mistaken (I hope not). Does anyone recognize Frank Morgan from their research? And could someone with access to the 1891 census check to see if Frank is listed, possibly as Alexander's son (I hope so)?
