A recently acquired cd from the Family History Society of Lincolnshire finds a stray from the Orkney's , it is amazing that this cd when asked for a search on Scotland gives 584 hits, the years on it range from 1702-1848, now some of the Scotland hits twice on one name but still it is amazing the number of Scottish records in here Vagrancy Pass Oct 21, 1795 James Fleet apprehended in the town of Gainsboro as Rogue and Vagbond removed to Scotland Settlement Examination dated Oct 21, 1795 He is 29 years of age or thereabouts and was born in one of the Orkney Islands in Scotland that he left his parents when about 15 years of age and worked in the Islands aforesaid and other parts of Scotland as a Labourer until about two years ago when he lost one of his legs and came into England and has ever since wandered about the country begging to support himself and further this examination saith that he hath not to his knowledge or belief at any time since gained any other settlement Jame x Fleet LQS A/1/27/1/Kirton /56 and 57 Cathy

Vagrancy Pass dated 15 July 1808, John Lewis lately commited to the House of Corrections at Kirton for Vagrancy to be kept in the said House of Correction for four days then removed to the parish of Saint Andrews in the mainland of the Orkney Islands, North of Scotland Settlement Examination: dated July 18, 1808 He was born in the parish of Saint Andrews in the Main land of the Orkney Islands north of Scotland and that he hath not done any act to gain a settlement in England signed by John Lewis LQS A/1/355/113 Cathy
