For those looking for signatures of your ANNAL ancestors, just wanted to let you know there is a particularly good example of the signature of Peter Annal, who was the spouse of Ann Cromarty, in the 1875 birth register for his grandson, John Annal "Russland" (Rusland), Junior. Peter Annal and Ann Cromarty's daughter, Ann Cromarty Annal, married John Annal Rusland in 1874. In early May of 1875, John Annal Rusland [Senior] was found drowned in the sea off Grimness Head. In September of 1875, their son, John Annal "Russland" [Junior] was born and Peter Annal, the grandfather, signed his name on his grandson's birth register. I think Peter Annal would have been in his mid-70's at the time of this signature.
