Hello -- I am wondering if anyone has any confirmation of a South Shields marriage in 1889, for So Ronaldsay "Strays", James Taylor GUTCHER [b.1861, So. Ron. / d.1895, So. Ron. - son of William Gutcher and his wife, Catherine Taylor] and Elizabeth Wright THOMSON [b.1866, So. Ron. / d. ? - daughter of Robert Thomson and his wife, Catherine Duncan]. In a birth register for one of their children, the parents' marriage is listed as having occurred "1889 - April 26th, South Shields" [England]. I was just looking for a few more confirmations of this date & place. Many thanks! - Lisa PS - Also wonder if anyone knows when/where Elizabeth died and if she ever remarried

Lisa Free BMD index lists a marriage in June Quarter 1889, South Shields, Ref: 10a 1111 for James Taylor Gutcher and Elizabeth Wright Thomson. If you wanted more details you would have to send for the certificate. I use S Shields records myself from time to time so will bear them in mind.
