Given the recent interest in Canadian Thomsons I'd like to mention again my James Thomson who died in Vancouver on 12 December 1948 and who's death certificate says he was born on 13 April 1861 in the Orkney Islands. He was a prospector, hotelier, landlord and athlete and had financial and personal links with the Orkney Islands. However no record can be found of his birth or parents in Orkney. Does anyone have him in their records? Regards Philip Booker Stay connected to the people that matter most with a smarter inbox. Take a look http://au.docs.yahoo.com/mail/smarterinbox
