Does anyone have records, please, of an Isabella BUDGE, born ABT 1823, probably in Tankerness or St. Andrews, but then again, maybe not. She is proving to be rather elusive. She either married or co-habited with Jeremiah HARCUS, as they produced Margaret HARCUS, born ABT 1851. Margaret Harcus was one of my four great grandmothers. Thanks -- Mike Clouston
Where did Jeremiah live? Do you have the death register for Isabella? Or, if not, do you have the death register for either Jeremiah Harcus/Arcus, or the daughter, Margaret Harcus/Arcus? If so, it/they may, or may not, notate whether Isabella was alive at the time of said death(s). I see --though I have not viewed/downloaded the register from the GROS-- that there was an Isabella Budge (could be married name or maiden surname) who died in 1913, age 96, St Andrews Orkney... have you checked that record? My sincere thanks to Lisa Conrad, Jim Lawson, Ken Harrison and Marion Mcleod for helping me find some details on my great-great-grandmother, Isabella BUDGE. I've updated my ancestral tree - the first five generations of it at any rate - and put it on my website. Have a look at http://www.mikeclouston.co.uk/ and click on the 'My Ancestral Tree' link at the top of the page. Marion, I'll be in touch off-line regarding Wards, but don't hold your breath! -- Kind regards Mike Clouston
