Rosie, There's some more stuff on Magnus Work on "The Orcadian" website. Try this search: http://tinyurl.com/8jscc In fact, there was an obituary for him in "The Scotsman" this very day. Unfortunately, though, you have to pay to view it online. This one from news.telegraph is free, though: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=&xml=/news/2006/02/13/db1301.xml Norman Tulloch Rosie Powell wrote: > Hi it's me again. > > My mother has just given me some information on a name I have not got in my > tree. > > The name is Mangnus Spence WORK born 18/1/1910. I was wondering if anyone has an answer to a question I have. There were some articles which appeared in the Orcadian and/or the Orkney Herald about my family and I'd like to have copies of them. Should I write directly to the Orcadian (I have approximate dates) or would it be better to go through the Kirkwall Library? Also, where would I get copies of anything that might have appeared in The Orkney Herald?
