Hi Willie, The below is THEORY only. There was an "Archibald Sinclair" born 21st December 1893, Grimness, So Ronaldsay (the birth was in Dec.1893 but was registered in 1894, on January 2nd). For the father, the birth register shows "James Banks Sinclair, Farm Servant" and his wife's name was "Isabella" McKenzie -- "Isabella" was written first, but then crossed out by the Registrar, Wm. B. Swanson, and "Annabella" was then written above it. There is a marriage of James Sinclair to Annabella McKenzie on 12th November 1885, Grimness, So. Ronaldsay. Twenty hits returned on my search, and there was that one which you reference from CGWC, that of Service No.106149, age 24, born in Scotland, died 1-10-18. The name shown for that is "Archibald Sinclair". [my] GROS ref.# for this death is - D1918_131_AF_0227.tif I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions! Hi Lisa Thanks for the information. Janet Fraser has sent me information that agrees with your findings. Now all you have to do is discover that Solomon Guthrie and my Anne Guthrie were siblings. Not much to ask I know. I have one of my strange theories on this.
