Christine Stone I have been looking at your Margaret MacDonald........I am really at a loss as well The only MacDonald's in South Ronaldsay .....well there in 1820 were my MacDonalds', William and Elizabeth and family Now fifteen years earlier...........who knows, I am sure there were a lot of families flittering around due to the clearances in Sutherland and Caithness I know of an Angus MacDonald who had a couple of kids in the Orkney but was settled in Sutherland......time frame you are looking for as well, I think there were men that were fishermen that may have been here and there by times, and in good weather maybe the family went along? Now one thing I would like to know is how do you know that this Margaret MacDonald was born in South Ronaldsay? Have you gotten a death certificate on her? Any clues there? I know England did not usually put parents in on deaths so that might be for not. I guess one more question I might have for you is what is the child line up? It might give us a clue on parent names if they followed the rule of naming children in that time frame. Cathy Wagner
