Hi Ken Elizabeth's son, James Hourston married Ellen Spence, daughter of Robert Spence and Isabella Whitelaw. Robert was the miller at Boardhouse Mill. He was a son of Robert Spence and Margaret Peebles from Crook Birsay. I have quite a large number of Spences in my family which makes it difficult at times. Fiona, Like you, I have more Spences in my data to whom I can NOT find a connection than those to whom I can find a connection. I probably have some of yours lost in my data but don't have enough firm dates to clearly identify them. Your names below are tempting, and I have multiple copies of each of the Spence names.
