I've run across a birth register in 1880, South Ronaldsay, that shows two parents having married in "Hartford, America", May 26th, 1879. Firstly, I'd like to try to verify that marriage date and place. But I'd also like to know -- which Barbara Gunn was this? Who were her parents? This family seems to disappear from Orkney after this birth was registered. One would infer they went back to America, but I haven't searched all of Scotland for them, post-1880 (as there are quite a few Daltons outwith Orkney and I don't want to spend too many credits on ScotlandsPeople just yet... until I might find out more clues). Any ideas, anyone? Anyone connected to this family? Just trying to track So. IGI shows a marriage in Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania on that date. However, no Source is listed. Best known Hartford is in Connecticut--several states away. ecunningham@att.net
