Located signature of Hugh PETRIE of Quindry, So Ronaldsay, when he was approx. 68 years old. (I offer this info because sometimes it is hard to find signatures of your ancestors when they were older. It can be interesting to compare the handwriting of your ancestors as they age.) Because the place name was Quindry, I believe this was the Hugh Petrie who married Barbara GRAY; he was a son of Peter PETRIE and Clementina ALLAN. (Someone can let me know if I am wrong?) His signature is on the birth register for his grandson, John Cormack PETRIE--> So Ronaldsay Births, year 1870, Page 13, entry #39. _ Lisa
