Hi Jim and Norman Thanks very much for your replies Can you tell me if the book is relevant to finding out about the places etc from way back or is it more recent? That might sound a bit daft but I want to find out about the places etc regarding where ancestors lived. Fiona

The book is called Fae Quoy Tae Castle and it's a wonderfull book. It has photos [b&w] of all the house on the Isle of Westray. Each house has a write-up with family names. The index however, is a little skimpy and should be expanded. I love my copy. It speaks volumes even without the words.
