Kevin in Ireland - ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk/ is the best advice you can get - user friendly, pretty inexpensive and results are immediately viewable [downloaded images]. I'd like to remind everyone of the fimed images on permanent loan at a Family History Center which is only 8 minutes from my house, I work a shift there weekly though not a church member. Birth, Marriage and Death Registrations from 1855 through 1875, plus the 2 extra years of 1881 and 1891 are there, though many of the images are here at my pc in folders containing hundreds of the images as photocopies or digital images. The parish I've mainly studied has been Orphir, so I've gathered [only a few years left to fill out the image series] images of B, Ms and Ds from un-filmed years, so the total years of coverage would be 1855 through 1910. This is for Orphir only but has a full image of each handwritten registration. This same FHC also has all census films for these recorded Orkney censuses : 1841, 51, 61, 71, 81 and 1891. 1901 is available, on ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk/ only, its not yet been filmed by the LDS church. Some parishes have the 1821 Census results, but not all. These are available at the Orkney Family History Society for a small fee. I purchased my set of 1821 Census microfiche from the Ontario Genealogical Society about 5 years ago. If anyone would like any of these images sent as a JPG, or if you might only need the information sent to you via eMail, just write to me and ask about Orkney Registrations [so it won't be sent to a spam file]. Good luck Kevin and Good hunting !
