Hello All, My apologies ......in my rush I mis spelt the name in question. It was supposed to read Heddle. The person in question is a James Heddle b. 1894 Orkney Islands. He married a Mildred Isora Shepherd and he subsequently emmigrated to St Thomas, Ontario, Canada. If anyone can help me regarding this person or surname please get in touch. Also, any advice on scottish certs and 1901 census would be most welcome. I have been informed that Scottish certs. carry a lot more info. than English or Irish certs. Thanks in anticipation. Does your James Heddle have a brother John b:1896 married to Joanna Thomson. The ones I am searching are in the Walls/ Longhope area of Hoy. His father was Hugh Omand Heddle and mother was Mary Johnston.
