I apologize to those who will see this on several Lists. Today marks the 212th anniversay of the placing of grafitti on a rock on the coast of British Columbia to mark the first crossing of the North American continent by a European, completed this date on 22 July 1793 by Alexander McKenzie. Can anyone tell us where his roots in Scotland are? Are there any descendants reading the List? or anyone related to him? Many years ago I made a special trip just to see that graffiti, and although it was very hard to get to it, have always been glad I did. He has a direct descendant, I thought grandson, but must be great grandson who is a friend of my brother. Alexander lives in London, England, or did at the time I met him. Noticed him because of his very smart clothes, on the ferry from Vancouver Island, and then was very surprised to meet him at the social event I was on my way to. Must ask my brother about him.
