We have an illegitimate birth, James Velzian born Aug 31, 1856 Mother Elizabeth VELZIAN Place Kirkwall Father not given on birth details, but later on his marriage certificate he gives his father as John Linklater, & by 1871 (census), he, James, changes his name to Linklater. Do you think the Kirk Sessions could help us to find "which" John, as there a a few possibilities.
