At the front of a bible which belonged to Jemima Borwick is an inscription regarding her grandmother's family. This appears to relate to Jemima's paternal grandmother Jean Corrigill b 17 Mar 1811 Harray d/o John & Catherine [Isbister] who married William Borwick in 1829. The writer is 82 at the time of writing the passage and states that her father was a teacher at Harray and his father was a Hudson Bay man. This is followed by: Granny died 1893 March [relating to above writer] Thus, if I have the correct info then John Corrigill would be a teacher & his father a HBC man. However, I could not find Jean Corrigill-Borwick on the 1881 census which would indicate that she died before then and could not possibly attain the age of 82. [Her other grandmother Elizabeth Swanson died at age 79 and she was the daughter of a HBC man & so was eliminated] I would like to hear from anyone searching this family. Susanne
