    3. Hello to all Listers (with apologies for cross-postings). I'm back from my little hiatus, and have been lurking for a few days. I'm using a new e-mail address, so if you regularly correspond with me off-List please change your address book to read: kenharrison(forty-three)@shaw.ca [where "(forty-three)" should be replaced with "43"; this done to foil address harvesters] Ken Harrison North Vancouver, Canada Only a genealogist regards a step backwards as PROGRESS ... 2. Original message from "Ian & Margaret Kelly" <imkelly@hotkey.net.au>: > I would like to hear from anyone who is researching or knows anything about a Thomas CRAIGIE or his wife Annie RANDELL.< Ian: When I first looked at your message, I thought you had your vowels mixed and that you should be looking for REndAll. A quick look in the IGI showed an 1839 marriage for Thomas Craigie and Doughlas Rendale 27 December in Rousay, Orkney. Might want to check them out in the 1841/51 census. ecunningham@att.net researching RENDALL in Westray.

    2. Lisa asked: > I've run across a birth register in 1880, South Ronaldsay, that shows > two parents having married in "Hartford, America", May 26th, 1879. Lisa: Sure it says Hartford?? IGI shows a marriage in Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania on that date. However, no Source is listed. Best known Hartford is in Connecticut--several states away. ecunningham@att.net

    1. [ORKNEY] Barbara GUNN - which one?
    2. Lisa Conrad
    3. I've run across a birth register in 1880, South Ronaldsay, that shows two parents having married in "Hartford, America", May 26th, 1879. Firstly, I'd like to try to verify that marriage date and place. But I'd also like to know -- which Barbara Gunn was this? Who were her parents? This family seems to disappear from Orkney after this birth was registered. One would infer they went back to America, but I haven't searched all of Scotland for them, post-1880 (as there are quite a few Daltons outwith Orkney and I don't want to spend too many credits on ScotlandsPeople just yet... until I might find out more clues). Any ideas, anyone? Anyone connected to this family? Just trying to track So. Ronaldsay strays. ----- newborn: James William Gunn *DALTON*, born at Berriedale, So Ronaldsay, 28th April 1880. parents: James *DALTON*, "House Painter, Journeyman" & his wife, Barbara *GUNN*. ----- Thank you, Lisa

There is also one case where the son is older than the father.
