    3. Fiona, The book is listed on Amazon UK, though you have to pay an extra "sourcing fee" for it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1902957008/qid%3D1129500058/202-1286726-6671827 It's also listed by the Scottish Genealogy Society, though it seems surprisingly cheap compared to Amazon and I'm therefore not totally sure that it's the same book. I think it must be, but it would be as well to check before ordering it. Look here: http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/cgi-bin/ca000000.pl Norman Tulloch

Some of our family members where involved in this and in a few cases proved to be the reason why some family members came to South Australia. Any information would be greatly appreciated. As we don't seem to be able to find anything on the internet. Regards, Anne & Malcolm In rainy Sydney.

    3. Dear List, I'm new to this list, thanks to a recent discovery that my husband's great-grandfather was born in Orkney (exact location unknown, alas!). I would be very pleased to hear from anyone with links to or information about Alick CUMMING, born about 1840, somewhere in Orkney. His father, James, was a sailor or tailor and died before Alick's marriage in Fulham, London in 1884. Alick's occupation was railway inspector. Just as a matter of interest, I stumbled upon a Margaret CUMMING on the 1901 census for Forest Gate, West Ham, widow, aged 51, living on own means, born Orkney (though obviously I don't know her maiden name). Her son, Finlay H Cumming, aged 19, merchant's clerk, born Scotland, is with her. Perhaps someone is looking for them? Deborah

    3. Hello Listmembers, I am new to this list and trying to trace Margaret MURRAY shown above. She married Alexander OAL in the Wick area on the 25th November 1814. The O.P.R. shows the marriage of Alexander OAL of Reiss and Margaret MURRAY of South Walls. The witnesseses were Alex Simpkin in Reiss and Joseph Murray in Louisburg. Margaret appears in the 1841 Census but the 1851 shows Alexander OAL as a widower. Any information on Margaret or her family would be greatly appreciated. Regards Stuart Saunders, Edenbridge, Kent
