    3. Hullo dear Oregonians, I have been hunting (see below) for my greatx2grands who were early settlers of Oregon and their names don't even come up online at the Oregon archives. Of course, I am very new at this--What I have found is listed below and any other news would be great. Your listowner did want me to include a family story: My granddad Chester Clare TURLAY, was part Indian (which I am also trying to trace) and as a result, his success in starting up the Electric Company (by putting up the lines) irked some fellows who chased him to the Klamath River's edge bent upon ill intent. Chester leaped in and swam across, only to find another gang on the other side, so he swam back. He was proud that he could take any three men his own size, which was 6'5" and that he married the prettiest girl in Wallowa County, Daisy DeForrest Wasson. (Daisy's book, AROUND THE CAT'S BACK tells of her growing up on the homestead and was kindly published by the Bear Wallow Publishing Company in LaGrande, OR. None of the family makes any money from this and it's a beautifully done book. And it's 50% discounted now.) This was a huge breakthrough, but could someone advise me how to access this census data? Or, does this match with anyone out there's family tree? Dear Felicia, I was at the National Archives today and looked at the Oregon 1870 census index for your Trimbles and found listed your Benjamin Bradley Turlay and Stephen A. Trimble, both in Linn County, Oregon. Stephen A. Trimble was shown in Syracuse District, on page 594. Stephen A. Trimble must be the S. A.Trimble about whom you inquired. If you will refer to this census you can get further data on him and his family. >>>Eugene E. Trimble >>> >>> >>>> Hi, >>>> >>>> I have been listing re: our S. A.
