Hi all, Thank you all for the great responses to my questions. References I had run across referring to "Tulelake" and "Tule Lake" as well as the duel locations in California and Oregon were confusing, to say the least. I had no idea what a "tule" was, or its versatility! Thank you again for clearing this up for me, and providing new sources of information to pursue. Good hunting, Pat -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 12:43 AM Subject: Re: [ORKLAMAT-L] Tule Lake >Hi another interesting about the tules is they were used as mats for the >floor and I was told when I was a small girl that the natives ate some oc >the roots and Ruthie > >........................................................................... .............................. > >On Fri, 14 May 1999 17:37:07 EDT [email protected] writes: >>I'm sorry about that last post that went out with no message - fat >>fingers, I >>guess. >> >>Another interesting point about the tule is that it was widely used by >>the >>Native Americans for a wide array of things, from housing to rafts, >>duck >>decoys, mats, etc. >> >> Bettie >> >> > >___________________________________________________________________ >You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. >Get completely free e-mail from Juno at http://www.juno.com/getjuno.html >or call Juno at (800) 654-JUNO [654-5866] > > >==== ORKLAMAT Mailing List ==== ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> > Welcome to Klamath,Co;Oregon USGENWEB mail list > KLAMATH CO GEN SITE IS http://www.rootsweb.com/~orklamat/ > Host Dan Matney [email protected] site http://www.angelfire.com/or/matney > >
