O'Hair's Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. ++++++ Herald & News Klamath Falls, Oregon January 7, 1987 Phelan-Paco Harry Sampson, Jr., born June 22, 1953, to Phelan and Carmelita Sampson, died Saturday in Reno, Nev. Mr. Sampson, 33, attended schools in northern Nevada. He was very active in sports and played in many Indian basketball tournaments in Nevada, California and Oregon, receiving trophies for being named most valuable player and for being placed on all star teams. He also boxed briefly as a professional, and in 1980 won a trophy in a Tough-Man Tournament in Klamath Falls as a heavyweight. Mr. Sampson owned and operated Modoc Construction Company of Klamath Falls. He was working as a scaffolding director for Capitol Scaffolding Co., Reno. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Duane Sampson, Antioch, Calif, Harley Matthew Sampson, Klamath Falls; daughters, Michon Little Star Brown, Klamath Falls, Jasmine DeGrado, Reno; grandfather, Irwin Weiser, Klamath Falls; father, Phelan Sampson, Sr., Reno; mother and stepfather, Carmelita and Dewey Sampson, Jr., Sparks, Nev.; brothers, Dean Calvin, Nixon, Nev., Lorentino Sampson, Florence, Ariz., Mario Sampson, Lincoln, Anthony Sampson, Reno, John Sampson, Wapato, Wash, Dewey Sampson, Jr. II, Sparks, Nev.; sisters, Contina Guevara, Sun Valley, Nev, Charlene Larson, Seattle, Wash, Christine Juarez, Reno, Nev, Traci Sampson, Sparks; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives in Nevada and Oregon. Services will be held at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Gym Thursday at 10 a.m. Services in Klamath Falls will be at the Klamath Full Gospel Church, 3206 Onyx St., Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by cremation. Burial will be Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Paiute Cemetery, Beatty.
