    3. Evening Herald October 26, 1928 Caroline Cowen, well known resident of Modoc Point, passed away at her residence Thursday night at 9:45 following an illness of 3 day's duration. She was born in Klamath County and aged 73 years at the time of her demise. She is survived by a son, Lindson Cowen; daughter, Mrs. Mary Switzler; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Weeks Jim. The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Williamson River Church with Rev. Dean C. Poindexter officiating. Vault entombment will be made in the family plot in the Hill Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evening Herald June 8, 1927 Cerilla, the beloved daughter of William Cowan, entered into rest at the family home near Chiloquin, at an early hour this morning, as the result of an illness of many months duration. She was born in Klamath County in 1900, and was in her 27th year. Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of her soul at Sacred Heart Church, Thursday morning at 7:30, Rev. Father A.L. Loeser officiating, after which the cortege will proceed to the Beatty Church, where another service will be held at noon. Interment will be made in the Mosenkasket Cemetery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Klamath News October 28, 1925 Chiloquin - Saturday afternoon at the Hill Cemetery Charlie Cowen, well known rancher, was buried. The services were very impressive and largely attended. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Semi Weekly Herald April 2, 1914 TRIES TO FORD, DIES IN WATER Pulling his horse while fording Williamson River two miles below Chiloquin Monday afternoon, Clarence Cowan, an 18 year old Indian, caused his horse to lose footing and go over, drowning the rider in the swift water. The youth and Jesse Kirk attempted the ford, and Kirk, upon reaching the opposite bank saw his companion disappear. He wore chaps, boots and heavy clothes, so sank at once. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Klamath News December 1, 1925 To Lindson Cowen and Hilda Lobert, both of the reservation and members of prominent Indian families, was issued a marriage license yesterday.
