    3. Evening Herald June 22, 1942 Fred Ryan Hood, a lifelong resident of Klamath County, passed away at Fort Klamath, on Saturday morning, June 20. The deceased was aged 44 years when called. He is survived by one son, Fred Hood Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Huff of Portland and Mrs. Tena Barkley of Chiloquin. -------------------------- Evening Herald June 24, 1942 The funeral service for the late Fred Ryan Hood will take place from the Chapel of Ward's Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. B.V. Bradshaw officiating. The commitment service and interment will follow in the Chief Schonchin Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Evening Herald March 12, 1928 Lawrence Odell Hood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Hood, prominent and well known residents of Chiloquin, passed away in this city on Sunday morning at 5 a.m. following an illness of 3 weeks duration. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Fred R. and Walter L. Hood and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Huff and Mrs. Tina Barkley. He was born in Klamath Falls 20 years ago last July and at the time of his death was 20 years, 7 months and 17 days of age. He was the youngest child of the Hood family. Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services to be held at the Beatty Methodist Church, this Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Rev. Robert McIllvenna will officiate. Commitment will be held and vault entombment made in the family plot in the Chief Schonchin Cemetery at Whiskey Creek. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evening Herald December 3, 1940 The funeral service for the late Leroy Hood, who passed away in Chiloquin on Friday, Nov. 29, will take place from the Methodist Church at Beatty on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. B.V. Bradshaw officiating. The commitment service and interment will be in the family plot in the Chief Schonchin Cemetery. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 11, 1936 Leslie Hood, a resident of Chiloquin, passed away at Chinchalo, Ore., on Sunday, Nov. 8. The deceased was a native of the Klamath Reservation and was aged 30 years when called. He is survived by one aunt, Dorothy Hood Jackson; and an uncle, Charles Hood Jr.; and a great-uncle, Charles Hood, all of Chiloquin; uncle, Ted Walker, of Sprague River; also 3 cousins, Vernie, LeRoy and Loyd Hood, of Chiloquin. The funeral service will take place from the Community Church in Sprague River on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m., the Rev. Iva Clark officiating. Commitment service and vault entombment will take place in the Chief Schonchin Cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Klamath Falls Northwestern February 5, 1915 ROBIN HOOD LEAVES FOR HOME Robin Hood, a prominent Indian of the Yainax Country, will leave the Blackburn Hospital this morning after spending nearly a week there. He has been taking treatment from Drs. Truax and Hunt for an ailment of his heart. ------------------------------------------ Evening Herald July 6, 1915 MODOC ANSWERS LAST ROLL CALL Robin Hood, Well-Known Modoc Indian, Lieutenant of Police On the Reservation Years Ago, Dies Robin Hood, one of the best known Indians on the reservation for reliability and steadfastness, being a lieutenant of police years ago under Captain O.C. Applegate on the reservation, passed away in this city on Sunday, July 4, 1915. Robin was a brother of Charles Hood, one of the best educated Modocs in this country, who was educated at Carlisle University in the East. Robin and Charles have both been prominent in the tribal councils, and have been suggested a number of times for a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with the Great White Father. Robin was about 10 years old when the Modocs were taken from this country to Oklahoma, and returned here about 16 years ago. He had been ill here for some time, and was about 52 years old when he died. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 26, 1940 Beatty - Mrs. Zelma Riddle Hood, who has been at the Klamath Agency hospital, is reported to be feeling much better. She was taken to the Buckhorn Mineral Springs last week. ---------------------------- Evening Herald November 4, 1941 Zelma Riddle Hood, a resident of Klamath County for the past 27 years, passed away at her late residence in Bonanza, Monday, Nov. 3. The deceased was a native of Yainax and was aged 27 years, 3 months and 30 days. She is survived by a son, Freddie Hood Jr., of Medford, Ore.; sister, Vernetta Walker and a brother, Owen Riddle of Sprague River; aunts, Minerva Brown and Anny May Copperfield of Bonanza. The funeral service will take place from the Beatty Church Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. B.V. Bradshaw officiating.
