Evening Herald October 29, 1936 Eunice Portia Miller, a resident of Sprague River, passed away at the Klamath Agency on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The deceased was a native of Sprague River, and was aged 34 years, 5 months and 4 days when called. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ellen Hecocta, of Sprague River; sisters, Thelma Hood of Chiloquin and Addie Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; half-sisters, Mrs. Anita Cook and Mrs. Ila Valdez; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schonchin. ----------------------------------- Evening Herald October 30, 1936 The funeral service for the late Eunice Portia Miller, who passed away at Klamath Agency, Ore., on Wednesday, Oct. 28, will take place from the Sprague River Methodist Church Saturday, Oct. 31, 1936, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Mildred Miller officiating. Survivors: the widow, Lottie; and sons, Joe Jr., and Clarence; daughters, Mrs. Ethel Walker, Mrs. Ivy Anderson, Mrs. Ida Hoppe, Mrs. Lydia Keluchie, Mrs. Jessie Anderson and Mrs. Karen Ray; also 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The body will rest in state at the Miller residence Monday evening. Miller, who died at the Klamath Agency on the 29th day of June 1899 of that insideous enemy to mortality, consumption, and was buried in the Klamath Falls cemetery on the 30th under the auspices of Linkville Lodge No. 110 A.O.U.W. was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, June 12, 1842. From thence he came to Klamath County in 1869, and was for many years prominently identified with the interests and development of this county and acknowledged as an exempliary citizen devoted to his family, true to his friends and loyal to his country.
