I am hoping to wake this list up a little, its still sort of new, and some of the people who subscribed to it in the first place, left with out leaving a message, I would like to get as many people that I can who are involved in Kla Co. There are going to be a lot of people comming on now that I have this on the Gen Web page. One good point is to make a query about once a week to keep the list alert that there are others here, I have noticed several lists on Rootsweb completely dormant, untill I make a post then the list will wake up for awhile. I am interested in locating family that lived in or near Bonanza in early 1900's. Louise (cant remember last name) married a Killgore. She went to school with my father. I met her briefly in about 1980 at a Memorial Day Picnic in Bonanza, and she told me that she had lots of Killgore/Kilgore genealogy information and a book about the Killgore family, but at the time I was not doing research, and I let the opportunity slip by. She must have been close to 90 at the time. My father, died in July 1980 at the age of 89. Bettie Slack Killgore
I am looking for information regarding the Slack family that lived in the Bonanza area between 1900 and 1920. They were mainly involved in the lumber industry. I am particularly interested in obituaries and newspaper accounts. Amos Leon Marshall Slack died in Bonanza on March 19, 1907 as result of an accident. Ila Fay Slack was arrested for embezzlement around 1920 - 1925. A researcher was checking for me a few months ago, but I have lost contact with her without getting the information I sought. Hi Tom, Are any of your Britton relative located in Decatur County, Kansas? I have some info on Joseph Thomas Britton (born around 1880) & Edna Eln Preston, but Kansas is a fair distance from Washington, and this is probably the wrong list to be posting to! Dan: Good advice. I belong to several county and surname mailing lists. A couple of them are very active. From the help I received on just one list (Franklin County, IL) I was able to get my wife's' family back six generations within 24 hours of posting a query. She has found at least six new "cousins" active in genealogy, and we have our reservations in for a family reunion down there next July. I posted a query on this list several months ago but got no responses. I am looking for descendants of James Britton (my wife's great uncle) who moved to Klamath Falls from Toppenish, WA about 1930. He was born in Benton, IL about 1880. Tom in Michigan

I have a question. I have an Aunt Emma Ione GLINES, that was married to a John Landson WILLIAMS, in Klamath County 27 Aug 1920. Would this marriage record still be in Klamath County or do I have to write the Vital Records in Portland? Also if this marriage was in a newspaper, what paper would it likely be in? Thanks for any help you can give. Joanna [email protected]
Any one in the group is invited to join this list and use it as a commincation center for Kla Co. I find people who are looking for Kla info and I send them all to this list, I feel as it grows it will be an important place to be . Dan Kla Gen web Co-ord >

Greetings: I am searching for any information on David, William or Matthew SKEEN. They were borne in Siskiyou County, CA to Kitty, (full blooded Modoc, daughter of Indian Chief Sheepy, and brother to Pete Jones). And Franklin Norris "Doc" SKEEN. 1850's to 1900 they lived in California on the old Doc Skeen homestead, now it is called Lairds Landing. Later years David and William moved to Klamath County and ranched there for many years. Matthew died in early 1900, abt 1909. Any information is very much appreciated. Gerry In Oregon
