    3. I too found the 1798 will extract for Joseph Cunrad and he too only named the seven known children of Anthony. I do not see how Catherine could be a daughter of Anthony and Sarah Hatfield Cunred. I also find it highly doubtful that she was the d/o Anthony son of Madtis and certainly cannot be proven one way or the other without more records which are either not available or not found to date. Where did Anthony of Madtis settle and die. Evidently there is a deed or something that notes his wife was named Ann. Thanks to all of you, especially Erik for his previous research on the Cunred (or whichever way it is spelled) family. I have several German ancestors whose names were spelled upteen ways, depending on who was writing it. Guess all of us have to explore all variant spellings of the surnames we research.
