I am trying to build my Uptegrove/Uptegraph/Op Den Graeff line back to the original settlers. I am researching the UpdeGrove/Updegraeff/OpdenGraeff line. I am looking for any updegrove's that went to New York from possibly NJ. Specifically William Updegrove b. 1780 ish d. 1833 in Clarence, Erie Co., NY. According to the Clarence history on the web site William came to Clarence in 1801. I am looking for his family. He possibly had a brother named Richard. Possible the son of Peter UPdegrove ( b. abt.1755 d. 1830 in Vernon Twp., Sussex Co., NJ) and Catherina Bockoven/Backoven. Richard moved on the Wallkill, Orange Co., NY. William's family moved on to Genesee Co., Mi in 1840. My husband is descendant from his daughter Cornelia Ann Updegraff Russell. We live in the next county from where they originally settled.
