Hi Does anyone know if Jan Seimens and Mercken Lucken had any children. Thanks! Mercken Lucken, also called mercken Willems, married Johann Simes/Seimens of Gladbach. They had banns posted for the first time on 12 Sept. 1679 in the Reformed Church of Krefeld Stanford L.Landis ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Jan and Mercken had a son Peter, born 30 Oct 1682 in Krefeld. Wilhelm Strepers made a marriage contract with Mercken, dated 29 Jul 1685, showing that he would become the owner of Jan Seimens property, and Wilhelm also pledged to recognize Peter as his own and give him the same rights as any future children. The will of Wilhelm Streper showns four children, Peter Jansen, Leonard Streipers, John Streipers, and Catherine Streipers. Peter Seimens married Gertrude Neus, daughter of Jan Neus and Agnes. References for this information include issues of Krefeld Immigrants and Their Descendants, by Iris Jones and Brave New World, Rhinelanders Conquer America by Dr. Dieter Pesch. Dr. Pesch gives the source for the marriage contract as "Recorded in Pennsylvania Letter of Attorney Book."
