    2. To the LIST of ORIGINAL-13: I am re-sending this note just as I wrote it. I tried to send it to the Bill CANNON who is listed on the wonderful TUNES-KLINKEN site, but my note bounced. Soooo...Would anyone else care to respond to "my brick wall"? Thank you: Dxie (SCOTT) Hello, Bill CANNON: I have just gone through your delightful TUNIS ~ KLINKEN family site. Thank you for making this so public. My William A. TUNIS, b (c) 1773, married Lucy SURIN (Spelling not verified anywhere). He died sometime before November 16, 1846: probably in Sevierville, TN. I have him in 1820 ((see William A TEUNIS)) in Rutherford Co. TN @ between 26 / 45y = b) 1775 ~ 1794. There are 7 children: 4 females and 3 males, on the 1820 C. In 1824 he and family are in Sevier Co. TN and listed in Survey Book One pg. 140 & 272. I have copies being sent to me. Again in 1830, in Sevier Co. TN, William TUNIS @ 40 ~ 50y = b) 1780 ~ 1790. I have not found him in 1840. Lucy (SURIN) TUNIS appointed Andrew LAWSON, Attorney in Sevier Co. TN, to collect her dower as widow of (late) Wm. TUNIS. Witnessed by Geo. W. SEATON & Anderson MELTON. She is found again (@ 65y) in Dallas Co. MO, living with son, William TUNIS + 3 Grand Children, which appear not to belong to William. Lucy and William (Sr.) also had a daughter: Sarah TUNIS who married Joel SCOTT, about 1820 probably in Surry Co. NC(?). I have not found the marriage anywhere. She was born in 1795 by the census files and died before 1870, probably in Jefferson Co, TN. Sarah and Joel SCOTT had at least 10 children and one was James Tunis SCOTT: my Great Grandfather. I hope this is not too much for you to look into. My question is this: do you know how my William is connected to the early TUNIS (etc.) families in PA or elsewhere? I have gone through every listing that I can find, and I still do not know which family he came from. Any idea you might have will send me on another hunt. I think all clues are wonderful: even the negative ones. Then I know where not to look the next time. Thank you for your site and for reading my note. Dixie (SCOTT) LESTER
