OK, folks. Many of you received a copy of Berger.jpg. That is the file that Cathy Berger provided (or rather, I scanned from a paper), and that was or is a mystery. Here is the basic layout, first... 1745 MAREA OPTE GRAFF Bo? BEEN BARET HER THA 3 TA AF AGHOST BEEN ATEN ?EARS AFAJH Now here is what I modify it to, considering the person writing it as not quite getting for the E's and I's, and the person transcribing it not quite getting a few things right, either... 1745 MARIA OPTI GRAFF BO? BEIN BARET HER THA 3 TA AF AGHOST BEIN ATEN ?EARS AFAJH This is what I make of it... 1745 Maria Opti Graff Bo_ Being Buried Here The 30th of August Being Eighteen Years of Age I was so presumptuous as to suggest the Bo_ might be a name such as BOM. This part is, of course, only a total guess, except that the length of the name has to be absolutely no more than four letters, and likely only three. What else remains, that is a well-known name of the area? Anyone who can find this person, be she a BOM or not, should certainly receive the thanks of the list. I had, formerly, thought it was the 3rd, but now agree with (was it the Castor Association? DeHaven?) the 30th. So there you have it. Sorry, for those of you who have joined since this puzzle was posted. If you would like a copy of that file, let me know, and I can still send you an email attachment of it... It is a graphics file. Vince
Thanks Vince. I would enjoy seeing a copy. Who knows but that my "eagle" eyes might help with a letter or so <LOL> Antoinette [email protected] "Vincent E. Summers" wrote: > OK, folks.
