    3. My line is Upthegrove. My earliest Upthegrove is Joseph Upthegrove, born between 1790 and 1794 in Virginia. He married Mahala Manning (Mannering?), born 1797 in Virginia. They were married 23 Oct. 1815 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Mahala died sometime between 1841 and 1845. Joseph then married a widow, Sarah "Sallie" Brock on 7 Jan. 1846 in Lincoln County. From what I have found, her maiden name was King. Joseph died sometime between 1848 and early 1850. I have some information on children of Joseph, but have been unable to find anything before he moved to Kentucky. I have also found very little about the Upthegrove (including other spellings) name in Virginia. I have the following children for Joseph and Mahala: (m) b. 1816-1819 (f) b. 1816-1819 (MAY have been Permelia b.1818, m. 1st John Coulter and 2nd James Flint) (m) b. 1820-1825 (m) b. 1826-1829 Nancy b. 1829 Elisha b. 1832-1833 m.
