    3. Hi all, I've been trying for years to locate the family of my maternal great grandmother, Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Updegrove who was b 14 Feb 1866 in Wrightsville, York County, PA. Her parents on her death certificate were listed as John and Martha Updegrove. I was recently sent the 1880 census entry that shows Lizzie in the family of John and Martha Updegrove of York County. John's age leads me to suspect he is the John Updegraff 17 in the h/h of John and Mary Updegraff on the 1850 Hellam Twp., York Co, PA census. I have found a John H. Updegraff, b c 1802 who may be one of the sons of Peter Updegraff of Hellam Twp. By researching back, I have a tentative line from Abraham Updegraff who was one of the original 13. If anyone can offer additional information on this line, or show me where I am wrong in this possible line, please let me know.     3. I have really never, to my knowledge, posted on any of the names above, except KITE. Yet, I see from recent posts, and some important info that I am about to tell you about, that it would not have been out of line. I just thought they did not connect sufficiently closely, or really, in essence, at all. I may have been wrong in all this. Widener was shown earlier to apparently have some connection of a reasonable degree, and -- well -- just peruse these and see what you think, and if there isn't an interesting degree of connection, not just to the 13, but to Germantown. Heinrich KESSELBERG/CASSELBERRY d. 1729 isn't one of the original 13, but he got to Germantown right afterwards, and shortly after married a Catrin/Catharine ? d. 1768 by whom he had children Elizabeth, Derrick, Eve, William, John, Mary, Catharine, and Paul. Catharine was a member of the original Mennonite congregation. Could his wife be a daughter of one of the original families? Some of his children married into the DAVIS, BASSET, SHRACK, and ADDAMS families, and his grandson Jacob married Ann TYSON. I have more CASSELBERRY information. Gene in Gotha

    3. Vince, mention in the Lucken Book there are 2 sources 1. Jan Bible, 2. Jan Lucken and Abraham Tennis bought 1000 acres in Towamencin on June 17, 1703. Land Deed book E 5, V.7, p.267, city hall, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA. The children that you listed were from the 1st marriage of Abraham to Mary Maurle, 2nd marriage was to Elizabeth Walker for this marriage I have 3 children Margaret, Jonathan, Enos.     3. Hi Gene, I have 3 Joseph's, 3 Abraham's and 2 Matthias'. Jan luykens had Abraham b.1703, Joseph b. 1705, and Matthias b.1700, then Peter and Abraham both had an Abraham and Joseph. Abraham also had a Matthias. I would guess that the men you are talking about are the sons of Jan Luykens. But maybe someone has something more. Susan Hunsicker [email protected]

    3. Who were the Joseph, Mathias, and Abraham LUKENS mentioned in the will below? I have a rough idea, but would like to hear if anyone has data to confirm who they are, and if any of them could possibly be the father of Margaret WIDNER, wife of George? The daughter Elizabeth mentioned in the will below I am sure married my Christian WEBER, Jr. in 1765. In Abstracts of Philadelphia Wills, there is one George WIDNER, Yeoman of Gwynned, Co. of Philadelphia, Will Book N116. Will dated Mar. 8, 1764, proved Mar. 20, 1764. It names wife Margaret, children Abraham, Elizabeth, and Catharine. Executors are Joseph LUKENS and Jacob WENTZ, and witnessed by Mathias and Abraham LUCKENS. Gwynned Twp. is adjacent to Worcester (WENTZ family) and Towamencin (WEBER family) Twps., and there are other interactions between the Wentz, Lukens, and Weber families. Thanks, Gene in Gotha
