from 1757 on....to Loudoun Co, VA, and by the 1780s they were in Western PA, by 1810 in Ohio, GA, KY, by 1820, IN, IL, and by 1850 in CA, OR, and MO. After that virtually every conceivable migration trail. EXCEPTIONS--I have NEVER found a Kunders descendant in the South before 1900 except in GA and VA Huge numbers have stayed in Philadelphia, Montgomery Co., and NJ. Census records will confirm this pattern. So, sorry, nothing exciting!. Erik Conard-Denver
You mention Peter Weidner. Which one is this? Is it by chance Peter Arrell Brown Widener? If so, I have a goodly amount of stuff for you. Weidner who married my great-great grandfather Joseph Norbury. In Levering Family history the name was spelled as "Norbrey". Joseph was born abt 1816, married Mary 04-05-1840, and died 04-27-1890. I have hit a brick wall with Joseph. If anyone has come across Joseph Norbury, "Norbrey" or "Norberry" in their searches, I would appreciate any help and will share anything I have. Thanks, Julie

I'm still trying to definitely prove my Updegrove/Op den Graef descent from Abraham. I have found several lineages on the sites, and while they seem to show the descent, I still need to prove that my John Updegraff of 1850 York Co, PA is the son John H. of Peter Updegraff. Please, anyone with records on the York Co PA Updegraffs/Updegroves, please contact me. As for a map of my line, it stayed in York Co until the last Updegrove of my line, Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Updegrove married Collin E. McCurdy and they lived in Maytown, Lancaster Co, PA and later in Evansville, IN where Collin worked for the American Tobacco Company. After he retired, they went to live with their only child, my maternal grandmother Helen Marguerite McCurdy (m to Thomas Timmons Moss) in Frankfort, KY. There they died. My mother, an only child, still makes her home in Frankfort. My brother and sister live in FL and I am in NC. How's that for not moving much until the present generation? Marguerite Atteberry Emmons **Ancestors of Lizzie Updegrove ..John Updegrove (b 1833 d 1915) m Martha A. Flury ....John Updegraff (b c 1800/02) m Mary ? ......Peter Updegraff (b c ?, d c 1823) m Frances "Franey" ........Herman Updegraff and so on back to Abraham, I think.

Hi Vince, This is from a quick scan of the STREEPER descendant's locations, on STREEPER name only, no descendants with other surnames: Pennsylvania: Many cities in Montgomery, Philadelphia and Chester Counties Illinois: Upper Alton, Chicago, Metamora, Fosterburg Iowa: Onslow, Davenport Idaho: Idaho Falls, Rigby, Ririe, Pocatello Missouri: Kansas City, St. Louis, Jackson City, Lamar New Jersey: Trenton, Daretown Ohio: Conneaut, Cleveland Kansas: Atchison Massachusetts: Watertown, Lowell Alaska: Ketchakan Florida: (can't find reference right now) Washington: Seattle Indiana: Fort Wayne California: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pasadena, San Diego, Palo Alto Utah: Salt Lake, Ogden, etc. etc. Some of these locations have heavy concentrations of STREEPER families. In other locations, I have only found one or two of the name. By far, the majority of people in my data base with STREEPER as a surname are found in Pennsylvania. Maurine Ward
Here is a very difficult task that I think would really be neat, nonetheless. If those of each surname among the 13 were to develop little migratory charts of how their branch of the 13 surname, and then submit them, with dates, to some designated individual who would then represent that total surname. Then taking those and submitting them to someone who could assemble a grand chart, that could be submitted to Liese (after all was said and done), to be put on her homepage of the 13! All kinds of neat things could come from that. Unrealistic as it might be, I envision a clickable image map made from that chart, with images and biographies and geographical/city links. Vince

Thanks, Erik, for making me explore just a bit to find this easy way to tell others how they can subscribe, search the archives, etc. Actually, it is very straightforward, and we are very easy to find. Go to: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/PA/misc.html Scroll down to (We are at the bottom of the page): ORIGINAL-13-L and just click! Be sure to invite others. Just bookmark the URL I have shown here. Vince
Dumb question maybe, but who exactly was aboard the Concord? In other words were there others besides our famous ancestors of Germantown? Where might I find a posting online with the names? Thanks folks! Barb
Please note, friends, the following addresses! They are important to this group. I keep trying to get rootsweb to fix the Taglines so that they will always appear with each email, but, so far, no success! Great HOMEPAGE by Liese: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~original13/ Interactive Search for the new archives: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Enter Original-13-L and hit Submit Query. Then enter your search... [email protected] if you have any problems of a serious nature with this list. Vince Summers
Hi, Lee... I am assuming you have not heard from others, though common sense would tell me that you had... Yes, the Original 13 have been posted a number of times, and they are GERMANTOWN. In fact, they connect to Kite which connects, as you know, to Widener! In my earlier days, you may remember how you were able to help me so much to get started. This email list is my email list! It used to be on Listbot, but is now on Rootsweb. Here are the names, then, recognizing, please, that there are various spellings of the same name! Dirk Op Den Graeff --> Updegrove, Uptegraff, etc.,etc. Herman Op Den Graeff Abraham Op Den Graeff Tuenes Kunders --> Thones Kunders and many spellings otherwise Lenert Arens --> Leonard Reinert Tisen --> Tyson, etc. Wilhelm Strepers --> Streepers, Streypers Jan Lensen Peter Keurlis --> Kerlin, etc. Jan Siemens --> Siemons, etc. Johann Bleikers --> Blijckers, Blakers, etc. Abraham Tuenes --> Tunes, Tunis, Tennis, Dennis, etc. Jan Lueken --> Luckens, Lucken, Luken, Lyken, etc. and their families Vince

Being a 'johnny-come-lately' to the ORIGINAL-13 list, may I inquire [as I assume] that 'we' are talking about the original 13 families into Germantown? Or did I really get lost? Looking for some information about Christopher Wagenseller and as I don't think I know the listing of the original thirteen, figured someone here might have some information. His grandson married a Weidner that I'm tracking. Have you posted the original thirteen? Regards Lee Widner

I don't know if the members of this list are aware of, but there is a publication "Krefeld Immigrants and their Descendents", published 2X/year. I have just received the topical indexes and there appears to be a wealth of info on the Original 13. The editor is Iris Carter Jones: [email protected] Happy Hunting. Kathy
As my subject line stated it's further on Eliz Lukens - maybe that doesn't show up on the posting?
