    1. [ORIGINAL-13] Schumacher History
    2. A while back someone sent an email which said that a descendent of the Schumacher family had said his family was of jewish ancestry and came to the US from Spain through holland. The author of the email said he doubted that that could be true, because it didnt seem likely that anyone would take that route to get to America. However, I just read an early American history book that said that there were quite a few jews who, to avoid persecution in Spain, came to the US through Holland. Does anyone out there have any information about this and the Schumacher family? - ------------------------------------------------------------- Get free personalized email from USA.com at http://mail.usa.com

    1. Re: [ORIGINAL-13] Schumacher History
    2. The Shoemakers of Germantown (Schumacher) came from Germany and have been well researched and those Shoemakers were not Jewish. Other Shoemaker (Schumacher) families may have been Jewish. Holland was part of the Spanish Empire for a while and many Jews moved there in order to escape persecution and then left for various places.

    1. Re: [ORIGINAL-13] Question for Suppllee Kin
    2. Hi thank you... Sarah Supplee cir 1740? m George Zimmerman Dobrah m Christopher Zimmerman <---- this one I reall need info on, grandpa Chris didn't leave to much behing in the way of Genealogy hints... Catherine m. Thomas Zimmerman Peter m susanah Wagner Abraham m Margret McGlatherly Hannah m. Abrahm Heston RACHEL M. William TYSON Andrew Supplee m. Mary Zimmerman Elizabeth Supplee married Jacob Zimmerman Issac married Elizabeth Ball ( George Washington Tie) I don't have any dates or m. for Rebecca, John, Jacob , or Mary. And the Parents of Mary ,Jacob and Christopher Zimmerman Still need some sort of Verification of Parentage and Dates... These three are second generation, some FIRST born Americans. One Parent is said to Be Arnold Zimmerman and Mary Engle, and they other is Christopher Zimmerman and Sybella VanFossen... I have Sidonia Leviering, Mary Tyson, Opdegraeff, DeHaven, Suppllee, Luckens, and I am sure I am miising a few all piled into the first five year of Zimmerman arrival in 1694, all coming from Duchy or Wutenburg, in germany and leaving through Holland. The Delay in arrival of this bunch was the illness and Death of Johan Jacob Zimmerman, after he gather a group of 40 to go to the Free world in fear of the end of the world.. he was a Proffeso at the University of Wuttenburg, author of 18 books on Mathmatics and astronomy. He was among the very first to discover Planets by telescope and his friend went on to build the first Observitory in the caves around Germantown, he was Kelpious, also a Freind of Penn and pastourious. Sadly Joahn Jakob died in Rotterdam Holland and never say the success of his family and friends that went on to the us on a cannon fighting ship. Anyway, I love all the great histories, but if even ONE of the names could be connected ESPECIALLY Jacob Chrisopher zimmerman who married Sybella VanFossen... I would be Eteranlly grateful... I do know that the majority of my branches went next to Montgomery count 's twps , and also on to ohio and the virginias... I have Colateral lines with Daniel BOONE Geroge Washington and President Linclon also. Thanks you so much.. Cali I also have Mary Tyson m. Jan Luckens as grand parents, but don't know much about tyson family.. Does anyone have Tyson Will on the computer??? many of these children may hold 300 yrs of not knowing who goes to which parents on some of these people.. If anyone else has info , I would just LOVE to hear about it.. I would like to know who has the parents of George and Thomas Zimmerman On Wed, 31 May 2000 07:56:45 -0400 "Cathy Berger" <[email protected]> writes: > I think Hance Supplee was the father of a dau who married one of my > Tysons > and is the line of a now deceased cousin. 3. I think Hance Supplee was the father of a dau who married one of my Tysons and is the line of a now deceased cousin. I would have to look up my notes from her. Her book on the family is in the Cecil Co Hist Soc Library as the Tysons all moved there from PA. 1. [ORIGINAL-13] Pannebakker Family Association
    2. Ron
    3. Greetings All, Another of the families that married into many of the families that founded Germantown were the Pannebeckers. Of course there are any number of spellings of the name but mostly all are descended from Hendrick Pannebecker/Eve Umstat or Weiant Pannebaker and Neltje Holton. We have just started up a Family Association to try to bring all these folks together. If anyone is interested in information on membership, seeing our web page or subscribing to our mail list, please contact me privately at my e-address. I will be away for a few days but will respond as soon as I can. Thanks for your time and thank you, Vince. Ron Mitchell President, Pannebakker Family Association [email protected]
