Surnames: Routson, Candee Virginia May Routson, 79, a longtime resident of Hood River (Oregon), died on November 18, 2001 at Brookside Manor (Hood River). She was born February 27, 1922 in Hood River to Harry and Pearl (Candee) Roulson. She graduated from Parkdale High School and then attended Albany (Oregon) College [now Lewis & Clark College] and Willamette University. She worked for Glen McPherren for several years and then worked in Records and Elections for Hood River County from 1957 until 1987. She was a member of Parkdale Community Church and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She lived in Hood River for 40 years before moving to Parkdale (Oregon) in the 1990s and Brookside Manor in April of 2001. She enjoyed golf, bowling and gardening. Survivors include her sister, Ellen Routson, The Dalles; and brothers Bud Routson and his wife, Marge; Jerry Routson and Rick Routson and his wife, Patricia, all of Parkdale; eight nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Tribute Center. Interment will be at Upper Valley Cemetery in Parkdale. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge or a charity of the donor's choice sent in care of Anderson Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Street, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
