The Wasco County Pioneer Association will be holding its annual reunion on Saturday, May 3, 2003. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. The Calvary Baptist Church at 3350 Columbia View Heights in The Dalles, will be the site of this event. This year, former Sheriff John Magill will be presenting the history of Wasco County Sheriffs. We will also have on display various items of memorabilia collected by the Oregon Sheriff's Association from the various sheriff's departments along with as many pictures of former Wasco County Sheriffs as we were able to attain. We have asked that all Oregon sheriffs current or retired join us. This program will start at 1 p.m. We will also be honoring all the Century Farms of "Old Wasco County". We have made every attempt to locate all the owners of these farms to notify them of this event. However, due to the fact that no records are available with current owners and addresses, we want to invite them by this media. We would also like to have them let registration know when they register that they are Century Farm representatives so we may recognize them during the meeting. We do appreciate all they have done for Wasco County. We recognize or Wasco County Pioneer Man and Woman of the year. Who do you think it will be this year? We would also like to acknowledge that the Class of 1938 from The Dalles High School will be attending this event. As president of the Wasco County Pioneer Association, I would like to remind everyone that this event is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. We will have on display over 100 picture boards containing a history of Wasco County and its people in pictures. Viewing the pictures and attending the program is free of charge.
