A SWEDE KILLED Portland,Or., Jan 8 - Peter Peterson a young Swede employed at the Willamette Iron Works, was struck on the head to-day by a large shaft and instantly killed. LOCAL BREVITIES Mr. Leslie Butler and W. McD. Lewis were passengers on the west-bound train this morning. Brigadier General J.M. Siglin commanding O.N.G. (Oregon National Guard)recently requested Colonel Houghton of the Third regiment to recommend someone from his regiment for appointment on the generals' staff. In compliance therewith Colonel Houghton has named that very excellent young gentleman Judd E. Fish, whose official rank and title will be "1st lieutenant, and aid de camp." The appointment will be made and no better one could be. REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS State of Oregon to Asa E.
