    1. "The Heights Confectionery"..1913-????
    2. Hello List, I am hoping there's someone out there in Hood River who has a picture, or other type of memento, of a candy/ice cream/cigar/newspaper store, called "The Heights Confectionery", that was in operation on the Heights from about 1913 to?? My husband's grandfather, Oscar Buchanan "Buck" Evinger was the proprietor initially and I think it passed into his oldest son's hands (Charles or "Roy" Evinger) when Buck left Hood River after his wife, Malinda, died in 1919. The store was located in the same space as Barckley's Pharmacy was in later years from what my husband was told by his father. Anything at all about the confectionery would be very much appreciated. Or, for that matter, anything about Buck or his family would be equally great to have. I have been to the courthouse, library and museum and come up empty-handed except for copies of advertisements and listings in old phone books, so this is about the only thing I can think to do. Thanks for your attention. Kathy
