Rev. Dowell A. Callis officiated at the 2 p.m. funeral services on Thursday at the Anderson Funeral chapel. The remains were sent to Gothenberg, Nebr., for interment. Survivors are his wife, Allyen Rice, Hood River; a son, Dale, Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Farnstrom of Gothenberg, Nebr., and Mrs. Horace Hertel of Hood River; three step-children, Mrs. Gerald Montet of Long Beach, Cal., Norman Pheil of Treasure Island, San Francisco, and Gary Pheil of Hood River; a brother, J.L. Rice of Farnam, Nebr.; three sisters, Nellie A. Rice, Mrs. Harvey Klooz and Mrs. Laura Day, all of Farnam. Dean Rise was born at Farnam, Nebr., on June 30, 50 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rise. He was a parts man at Garrabrant Chevrolet before his recent illness.
