ROY D. SMITH Mrs. Roy D. Smith died suddenly at 11 a.m. Friday at her home in the Barrett district. Mrs. Smith had enjoyed the best of the health up to the previous evening when she was taken with an attack of acute indigestion. Although everything possible was done to bring relief, her death resulted. The body is to be shipped to her old home – Sardis, Miss., where funeral services will be held. Mrs. Smith’s maiden name was Bertie Buchanan and she was born in Sardis 36 years ago. She grew up there and was married to Mr. Smith in 1903. In that year they came to Hood River and located on the farm where they have since resided. Mrs. Smith was a capable, cheerful, lovable woman and had many friends. While all were shocked to hear of her sudden death the blow fell with especial severity on Mr. Smith, to whom all will extend heartfelt sympathy in his bereavement.
