PUDDY WAS SUDDEN Charles Augustus Puddy, pioneer of the Upper Valley, aged 67 and native of Little Valley, N.Y., died at his home Tuesday night at 2:30 o’clock. Mr. Puddy was stricken with apoplexy Sunday and never rallied from the attack. Mr. Puddy was married to Miss Ida Lenora Frazier, who survives, October 29, 1879. The family moved to the Upper Valley in 1908. They came to this city several years ago. Mr. Puddy, although his life had largely been spent on the frontier amidst hardships of early day development, gave his best for his family, his community and his state. He was one of the homesteaders of the Upper Valley who established the first church in that section. Surviving children are: Miss Lois Johnson, of Dundee; Mrs. Grace Johnson, of Parkdale; Mrs. Zora Gribble, of Portland, and Lawrence, Jessie and Ernest Puddy, Mrs. Alba Baldwin and Miss Hallie Puddy, of Hood River. Funeral services will be held this morning at the Riverside Community church, Dr. James A. Fraser officiating. Interment will follow at Idlewilde cemetery. This was posted for reference only.
